Anti-Racism and Human Rights: Understanding and confronting racism, discrimination and inequality for Amnesty International UK

“We collaborated with Kasey to create an online, 3 module learning course on Anti Racism and Human Rights. Kasey's flexible, globally conscious and harm reduction centred approach to this work was particularly suited to this project as we wanted to provide an accessible, open and engaging platform for our audiences to enroll in. Kasey brought a wealth of knowledge on anti racism practise, the roots and history of anti Black racism in the UK and the ways in which we can collectively start to embed Anti Racism into our daily lives. She was able to challenge our thinking, allow space for group and peer learning and she consistently strived for the most equitable way to produce detailed, yet clear learning moments despite the weight of its content for many groups of people. Working with Kasey as a group was both engaging and enjoyable and despite the large number of stakeholders and large range of inputs in the creative process Kasey's flexibility with timelines and ability to reprioritise work was very helpful. Together we were able to produce a large scale piece of work that we think will contribute to real change amongst our activist community and the wider public. ”

AJEDI Action Plan

Anti-Racism, Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at YoungMinds

“Over the course of a year - 18 months Kasey supported us to pivot our organisation to play an active role in disrupting anti Black racism and harm for racialised and Minoritised people, in both the work we do as a charity, and our working culture as employers.

Kasey held our collective nerve to take the time and pace it required to create a comprehensive action plan; one that moved beyond the remit of traditional Diversity & Inclusion, and into the cutting edge of intersectional anti-Racism. Kasey challenged us not to work at a performative or surface level, and to interrogate and test our working behaviours as an organisation.

The framework of her consultancy approach gave us a greater understanding and expectation of both our individual and organisational accountability, moving us into a culture of active anti-Racism, with clear responsibilities no matter your role or function in the organisation.

Working with Kasey set us up to kick start the long journey of organisational change, with a clear direction of how we, as an organisation, can show up for the work. Without her expertise and facilitation, we would not have such a clear and accountable framework for real change.”

The Blobcast: Free the Period

“At ‘Cause, we recently produced a podcast, The Blobcast: Free the Period and brought on Kasey as our host, due to her experience in facilitating sessions in this area at both schools and workplaces.

We knew we would be getting a competent and insightful host, but what Kasey brought to the table was so much more than that. From concept, creation and casting, to recording, post-production and even our media engagement campaign, Kasey’s professionalism, passion and unrivalled context has made the podcast an outstanding piece of work. Always keen to be involved, she was kind enough to provide feedback on marketing materials and other pieces of work outside her direct scope, to ensure we were as inclusive as possible. In short, she made us better.

I can’t recommend working with Kasey enough. She’s also, very funny.

“We brought Kasey into a client project to establish a DE&I strategy and undertake foundational senior leadership training. We needed expert input to provide direction on key issues, detailed understanding of best practice, and training that would challenge leaders to take ownership. Kasey provided all of these and more, giving us confidence in the integrity and strategic validity of our recommendations to the client. We also hugely enjoyed working with her, and she has become a trusted partner to our business.”

“Kasey is the missing voice in every organisation. At Freda, Kasey played a key part in our period inclusivity campaign with McCann, the advertising agency. Our Cycle campaign won the Silver Award for Impact at the Cannes Lions Festival in 2022. Kasey ensured everyone involved in the campaign really understood their brief on what true inclusion really meant and how that could be conveyed both visually and in the actual copy.”

What my clients say…

“Kasey’s enthusiasm for her work and deep knowledge were evident when I first approached her with the idea of conducting “barbershops” for male staff at our organisation. From the kernel of a notion she quickly designed a learning session while always seeking input and feedback. When we actually held the barbershop – in a real salon in fact – I was impressed by how she gained the men’s trust, steered them through difficult conversations and adapted as the discussions swerved. Building off the success of that first pilot, and the lessons learned, we were able to launch a series of barbershops for staff around the world. We introduced sessions for women and non-binary staff members. Kasey conducted pre and post surveys, wrote summary reports of each series of sessions, and drafted a road map for how the organization could take the barbershops further. The barbershops came to be seen as an innovative and grass roots way to engage staff in conversations about harassment, abuse, power and privilege. None of it would have been possible without Kasey’s guidance and leadership. During our time working together, I came to value Kasey’s professionalism and her passion for the work she does. I witnessed how she could manage the most difficult of conversations even in the face of antagonism and without making people self-conscious or defensive. I took advantage of our conversations to educate myself further. I believe that I and my colleagues are better off for the time we spent with Kasey.”

“Kasey is the kind of consultant every person and company needs on retainer. She worked with our ERG on two separate occasions to deliver learning and support that was much needed on anti Blackness, anti racism and safe spaces. The BIPOC community felt seen and understood where corporate systems and structures fail. Kasey is especially skilled at cutting through all the gaslighting and whataboutisms to the crux of issues, validating experiences and providing clarity. I would welcome the opportunity to work with her again without hesitation.”
