Anti racism coach/advisor

Coaching & Advisory

I work to provide guidance and support to individuals, organisations, or groups who are committed to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion, and specifically focused on addressing racism.

This way of working is designed to help people identify their own biases and develop strategies to actively work against racism in their personal and professional lives, in a more private and often entirely bespoke manner. In these spaces I create learning journeys that challenge people to confront their own biases and to provide them with the tools and knowledge needed to become effectively and intentionally inclusive and anti-racists.

A large part of this work is to help clients understand the historical and social context of these conversations, make them aware of the extensive literature on the subject that they should be at least familiar with and to demonstrate how these issues continue to manifest in institutions and systems today, so that they may go on to spot these injustices more reflexively themselves.

“I loved working with Kasey. We worked together to design a series of sessions with a mix of teaching and reflection, and Kasey expertly introduced topics and readings in response to my questions and context. Kasey combines deep expert knowledge and a very creative approach, drawing on material from a broad range of cultural, academic and historical sources; always highly considered inputs which collectively had a profound effect on my thinking. Working 1:1 with Kasey provided a safe, dedicated space to explore and deepen my knowledge, awareness and skill sets in anti racism work and leadership. Kasey is an inspiring teacher, an empowering coach and a highly skilled practitioner. If you are looking for someone to help you make a step change in your skills and knowledge, and own your accountabilities in leading change, I can’t think of anyone better as a guide.”

“I worked 1:1 with Kasey over a number of months and I can honestly say it was a life changing experience, and an investment that has benefitted every aspect of my life. I am embarrassed to admit that for years I didn't think I needed to do this work as I am in a mixed heritage relationship. I thought that was enough. That I was clearly anti-racist by that act alone. How little I knew. Kasey guided me through the important work that people need to do to understand their white privilege and how to be an active anti-racist person and a true ally to people of colour. The sessions and the homework were thought provoking, uncomfortable at times, and only the start of what I need to do.”
